www dot dailycaller dot com/2012/03/27/paper-spike-lee-tweeted-incorrect-george-zimmerman-address-possibly-putting-sanford-woman-in-danger/

[Sorry, new members can't post links for seven days]

Filmmaker Spike Lee tweeted the wrong home address for George Zimmerman, the Sanford, Fla., man who many are claiming should be arrested for shooting and killing Trayvon Martin. The tweet could have potentially put the woman who actually lives at that address in danger.

The Washington Times’ Kerry Picket went to the address that Lee tweeted as members of the New Black Panther Party were offering a $10,000 cash reward for Zimmerman’s capture, “dead or alive,” and others were demanding his arrest.

“[T]he Edgewater Circle address Mr. Lee re-tweeted out is not part of the gated Retreat at Twin Lakes where the shooting took place and where Mr. Zimmerman lives,” Picket reported. “The area is not even a gated a community.”

“In fact, I took a drive to that Edgewater Circle address that so many on Twitter re-tweeted and cursed, and I discovered through a neighbor, named Tim, who lives across the street from the address, that not only does George Zimmerman not live at the lakeside house but a woman by the name of Elaine does,” Picket added.

Picket also said several news agencies have showed up at the address looking for Zimmerman, which – with the crowds the Panthers, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have whipped up into a frenzy – may have put the woman, Elaine, in danger.

It’s unclear specifically which news agencies trekked to the address Lee tweeted and why they failed to report Lee’s inaccuracy.

This report follows new revelations in the Martin case, including Zimmerman’s self-described membership in the Democratic Party, freshly surfaced tweets from Martin’s Twitter account, and Martin’s various suspensions from school.

So what if he got the right address? Is tweeting it the right and moral thing to do? Considering all the information coming out now about Zimmerman and Martin, Zimmerman is looking less and less like this summer's racial violence scapegoat. The Obama campaign better re-think this strategy. It's far too early to start distributing those Obama/Martin hoodies if you don't want backlash or embarrassment.

Wow! That is really bad stuff, BC.

I do think that an investigation needs to happen. After all, a 17 year old boy is dead.

However, this is not the way to go about things.

Well, like I said before, justice may well be that Zimmerman is justified under the law. The problem is that many have already concluded what justice should be before justice has actually had a say and are ready to riot over it if they can't otherwise influence the outcome.

An unarmed teenager was shot and killed by a citizen that had no authority to do so.

The legal system works pretty well and judges usually don't let public opinion sway them. If Zimmerman was justified in shooting Martin in self defense then that will play out in the eventual trial.

My guess is that Zimmerman is guilty of overreacting. The big trouble is that he overreacted with a gun. He will be found guilty of manslaughter.

I think it's a little cowardly to shoot an unarmed kid.

An unarmed teenager was shot and killed by a citizen that had no authority to do so.

I can only go by what's reported but the "Stand your Ground" law gave him the authority especially if he was attacked first and beaten to the ground as witnesses are reported to have said. So on top of not being a racist, Zimmerman is also part Hispanic (the msm is careful to call him white) and a registered Democrat. Not very good signs for Obama supporters trying to make hay of all this.

I think the "stand your ground" law went out the window when Zimmerman got out of his car and started following Martin. If Tray was still alive he would have a better claim to that.

I've never heard anyone call Zimmerman white. His ethnic background really has no relevance. Neither does his political affiliations.

I don't believe anyone is trying to make "hay" of this tragedy.

you mean by the msm? how do you determine what is accurate and what is not when it comes to using such an inference as msm? It comes across as cherry picking.

the stand your ground law would have also applied to TM had he prevailed. Understand that this law is specific to when a death is involved...nothing more.

racism is not exclusive to white people.

What does this have to do with Obama again? Oh, that's right. Nothing.

Santorum:

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum says the shooting of an unarmed teenager in an Orlando, Fla., suburb was "horrible" and that the case is, in his words, a "chilling example of the horrible decisions made by people in this process."

Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was fatally shot Feb. 26 while walking through a neighborhood in the suburb of Sanford.

The admitted shooter, George Zimmerman, 28, has claimed self-defense and invoked Florida's' "Stand Your Ground" law. The law gives people wide latitude to use deadly force instead of retreating during a fight, and explains why Zimmerman has not been arrested.

Said Santorum: "Stand your ground is not doing what this man did."

But when asked if the Justice Department should investigate, Santorum said that should be left to local and state authorities.

But now Santorum is saying:

"We shouldn’t be politicizing and introducing issues the president has no idea what is going on and to leap to that is disturbing and sad. This is a tragic situation and sounds like a heinous act... to introduce this type of rhetoric that is clearly meant to bring out these sensitive issues is out of line and unfortunate. To inject that divisive rhetoric is one of the disappointing parts of this President"

Except Santorum's statements on the incident were far more condemning and he's the one who really concluded that Zimmerman is guilty of murder.

Yes.

how do you determine what is accurate and what is not when it comes to using such an inference as msm? It comes across as cherry picking.

I never said or implied the msm is giving or has access to all the correct information. I'm merely saying if this is the information, then this is how I would judge. However, notice the msm has not been carrying the news of "pro" Zimmerman witnesses and evidence until recently. They've waited to see if Obama's thugs could actually generate some violence which sells better and supports their own ideology.
